Origami Blintz Base

The origami blintz base consists of two diagonal folds and corners folded to the center.

The blintz base is also known as a cushion fold. It gets its name after one of the Japanese cushion folding techniques.

The blintz base gets its name after a pancake that originated from a Slavic country. In blintz pancake, the center has fillings and corners folded to the core.

How To Make An Origami Blintz Base

MATERIAL:

1 Origami paper 6 x 6 inches (15 x 15 cm)

INSTRUCTIONS:

The origami blintz base requires the following origami fold:
Fold: Origami valley-fold

Step 1: Take an origami paper.

Step 2: Valley-fold the top-left corner to meet the bottom-right corner.

Step 3: Unfold the fold done in Step 2.

Step 4: Valley-fold the top-right corner to meet the bottom-left corner.

Step 5: Unfold the fold done in Step 4.

Step 6: Valley-fold the top-left corner to the center.

Step 7: Repeat Step 6 for the other three sides, to form an origami blintz base.
