
The waterbomb base consists of:
»Two perpendicular mountain-fold and
»Two diagonal valley-fold that intersect at the center.
The paper is collapsed along the creases to form an isosceles right triangle with 4 flaps.
It gets its name from the famous origami waterbomb model.
It’s interesting, if the folds in the origami waterbomb base are reversed. Then an origami square or preliminary base is formed.
How To Make An Origami Waterbomb Base
MATERIAL:
1 Origami paper 6 x 6 inches (15 x 15 cm)
INSTRUCTIONS:
The origami waterbomb base requires the following origami folds:
Folds: Origami valley-fold, Origami mountain-fold
Step 1: Place the colored side of the paper up.

Step 2: Valley-fold the paper vertically in half by bringing the left edge to the right edge.

Step 3: Unfold the fold done in Step 2.

Step 4: Valley-fold the paper horizontally in half by bringing the top edge to the bottom edge.

Step 5: Unfold the fold done in Step 4.

Step 6: Turn over the paper.

Step 7: Valley-fold the top-left corner to meet the bottom-right corner.

Step 8: Unfold the fold done in Step 7.

Step 9: Valley-fold the top-right corner to meet the bottom-left corner.

Step 10: Unfold the fold done in Step 9.

Step 11: Push the left and right sides towards the center. And collapse along the pre-creases.

Step 12: Flatten to form an origami waterbomb base.
